I must say… the beds are super comfortable and I had a great night’s sleep. Normally if it is an unfamiliar environment, I will not be able to get into a deep sleep. But I was pleasantly surprised that I managed to do that and woke up feeling refreshed.
We started our family Weekend Getaway with a family morning buffet breakfast in Ginger.
It has a great selection of food for everyone in the family with kids’ buffet corner where kids can take their own food too.
After breakfast we went to the pool located on level 4 for a dip in the pool. Super love the floats especially the unicorn ones as they are so instagrammable!
Even though we are many restaurants around that area, we chose to eat at Si Chuan Dou Hua restaurant because of the great variety of choices for both adults and kids. On top that this is an award winning restaurant so why not right?
We ordered from the àla carte menu. But at the same time we also tried some of the vegetarian dishes from “Vegetables without Borders”.
It is a collaboration of Executive Chef Zeng Feng from Singapore’s Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant with Chef Sean Hsueh from Taipei’s Yang Ming Spring Green Kitchen as well as Guest Chefs Minoru Yazaki and Takao Inoue from Tokyo’s Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant. As a result of this unique collaboration, the meatless set menus include dishes with influences of Sichuan, Taiwanese and Japanese cuisines, with many creations featuring ingredients native to these areas.
“Vegetables without Borders” promotional menus are available at TOP of UOB Plaza at S$78 and S$98 per pax and at PARKROYAL on Beach Road at S$68 and S$78 per pax, with a minimum of two to dine. UOB Card members enjoy 15% savings on all set menus.
After lunch, we went back to our family room for some Netflix time before going to the pool Bar cCafe area where the kids played Nintendo Switch games. The boys absolutely love this hotel because it’s so kids’ friendly!
While the kids were having fun, I went for an Aromatic body Bliss Massage in St. Gregory. As long as you buy the family weekend getaway package, you get to enjoy exclusive 25% savings on all spa treatments at St. Gregory.
It was a great experience and a relaxing one as well. While, I was having my body massage, the kids progressed to an activity called Kid’s Circuit in the Fitness Studio.
They played a lot of games in the form of exercises and they told me the experience was awesome!
We went to check out Ginger restaurant for our dinner and we ordered buffet dinner for everyone.
Ginger at PARKROYAL on Beach Road is now having Ocean’s Treasures theme which features an incredible spread of crustacean delights such as Snow Crab Leg, Grilled River Prawns, Singapore’s Chilli Crab alongside new creations like Baby Lobster in Sambal with Petai and Herbal Claypot Crab. The buffet line-up of signature offerings will run from now till 28 July 2019.
Embark on a tantalising crustacean journey with Ginger’s much-loved Singapore’s Chilli Crab with its aromatic wok-hei and its spicy sauce. Diners looking for a hearty indulgence will be thrilled by the new Baby Lobster in Sambal with Petai, cooked with fragrant and homemade chilli paste, specially made by Executive Chef Vincent Aw, with petai, also commonly known as bitter beans. The Herbal Claypot Crab dish beautifully combines the succulent texture of crabs infused with locally sourced herbs.
Seafood-enthusiasts will be delighted by the Flower Clams, cooked prawns, Snow Crab Leg and more at the Seafood on Ice Station.
Meat-lovers are not forgotten! There’s the meat of the day, Sharwarma Chicken with condiments to accompany the mouth-watering cuts at the Carving Station.
Ginger’s house-made sambal sauces concocted from onions, chilli, limes, salted fish, provide one of the best complements to the barbecue delights. The restaurant’s popular staples such as Laksa or Mee Siam, DIY Kueh Pie Tee and assorted Satays continue on the buffet line.
Even the buffet dinner is very kid’s friendly as there is a corner whereby the kids can decorate your own muffins and doughnuts.
The next day we had in breakfast buffet in Ginger restaurant again. Afterwhich, we proceeded to the Pool level again as there were free kids’ tattoos and a sand art activities. The Pool Bar Cafe gives out free popsicles as well and the kids were super excited to be able to eat some ice-cream.
While the kids worked on their sand art pieces, I sat around the pool for some relaxation time before we checked out of the hotel.
Overall it was a wonderful experience and it just shows that we don’t really need to travel out of Singapore to have a great family time. For those who want a family getaway without the hassle to book air tickets and overseas accommodation, go for PARKROYAL on Beach Road family weekend getaway!
