With the Covid-19 outbreak, it is challenging to travel out of Singapore. So I decided to go for a staycation instead at M Social Singapore, a lifestyle boutique hotel.
The reason why I chose M Social Singapore as one of my staycation locations is that the hotel is running a campaign called We Clean. We Care. We Welcome.
They are taking the utmost care to establish precautionary measures for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) by upholding the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
The measures include:
- Rigorous cleaning and sanitization of guest rooms
- Regular sanitization of contact points, such as elevator buttons, reception counters and conference/meeting rooms
- Hand sanitizers placed at guest contact areas, such as hotel lobbies
- Equipping front desks with infrared thermometers to conduct temperature checks on our guests when required
- Provision of medical masks and gloves for our customers when requested
All the staff have been briefed on the guidelines provided by local health authorities, and will be ready to render assistance to any guest that may feel unwell. For overseas guests, the hotel team will assist to call in a doctor.
Daily meetings are conducted to review the situation. The management team is in constant communication with staff and guests to keep people updated and to advise on appropriate measures to take.
Convenience is another factor I look at as well. The hotel offers complimentary shuttle bus service to selected destination with pick-up and drop-off at the hotel.
M Social Singapore offers a unique hotel design, with over 293 rooms to suit modern adventurers by renowned designer Philippe Starck. Given a choice of alcove or loft-style room, I chose the Loft Terrace room as I like the high ceiling.
This Loft Terrace room is amazing as it has two floors where the bed could be found either at the lower or on the upper mezzanine.
The terrace garden is great for those who love to chill outdoor and also like plenty of space and height.
Complimentary in-room amenities include bottled water, coffee & tea, safe deposit box in the drawer, hair dryer, bath robes, bedroom slippers, toiletries, laundry bag, iron and iron board(upon request).
I can also watch my favourite Netflix or YouTube videos on the TV as I am able to select “Screen Mirroring” to connect to my mobile device. (only compatible with Android devices at the moment)
The room is well designed with light switches conveniently located throughout the room: at the entrance by the door, at both sides of the bed and next to the staircase landing. Brightness of the bedside lamps can be adjusted as well.
The complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is great for business travellers who need to work on the go or anyone who needs to use internet, upload photos, stream videos etc.
• Order & Grab service, available from 11.30am to 10.30pm daily, is good if I want to dine in the comfort of the cozy room. I can either pick up my meals or get them delivered to the room.
• There is also an outdoor swimming pool for a refreshing dip and a fitness center to get stretching and stay fit during my stay.
For those who want a quick and convenient bite or enjoy modern Asian cuisine, check out the in-house restaurant & bar, Beast & Butterflies, located on level 1.
Breakfast is from 6.30am – 10am (Till 10.30am on weekends) with a wide spread of food to choose from.
All Day Dining: 11.30am-10.30pm and it is from an ala-carte menu.
Bar 11.30am -11.30pm
The mixologist at the bar can concoct cocktails from the menu or come up with something from inspiration.
This is a vitamin inspired cocktail as everyone should be loading up vitamins to ensure a healthy immune system.
Overall, the staycation was great with attractions nearby like Robertson Quay and Clarke Quay. But most importantly, I felt assured due to the precautionary measures taken by the hotel against Coronavirus (COVID-19) to ensure the highest standards of safety and cleanliness.
