What I Did During a 3D2N Trip in Berjaya Langkawi Resort Malaysia

Langkawi has always been on my mind since 10 years ago when I was there to conduct a workshop during a company’s offsite overseas meeting.  I was wowed by the beautiful beach and sky and I wished I had the chance to visit Langkawi again.  I guessed my wish came true when Berjaya Langkawi Resort Malaysia invited me over for a 3D2N stay.

With a lingering legend woven into its history, Langkawi Island is nestled off the coast of Kedah in the Andaman Sea.  Berjaya Langkawi Resort Malaysia at Burau Bay is a mere 20-minute drive from the Langkawi International Airport, so off I flew to Langkawi to see if it has changed much.

Located in the state of Kedah in Burau Bay on Langkawi Island, the charming Malaysian-style chalets and suites are sprawled over 70 acres across the land amidst the lush 500 million year old rainforest.

Day 1 of 3D2N Trip in Berjaya Langkawi Resort Malaysia

After I reached Berjaya Langkawi Resort Malaysia via the hotel van which transports visitors to and from the airport, I went to check out Dayang Café for lunch. In fact, Berjaya Langkawi Resort Malaysia has 9 F&B outlets consisting of 5 restaurants, 1 lounge and 3 bars.

Dayang Cafe is located right below the entrance of the resort.

It was a satisfying hot buffet meal after the flight from Singapore to Malaysia. It also gave me some time to take a break before checking into the rainforest chalet.

Not just about authentic local dishes, but about authentic local ingredients as well, the local culture is deeply embedded in the preparation of food at Dayang Café. Serving gourmet delights ranging from favourite Malaysian street fares to other delectable cuisine from around the world, diners are in for a feast of flavours unique to the island. Its concept as an all-buffet dinner outlet with nightly themes and live cooking stations also sets it apart from other Langkawi restaurants.

After lunch, I was ferried to my accommodation via the Resort’s bus.  All you need to do is to let the counter know your room number and a bus will be allocated to bring you over.

I checked in the lush and comfortable Rainforest Chalet, which is immerse in all natural surroundings amongst lush greeneries in an age-old tropical rainforest.

Size of the Room is 32 sqm with King-sized bed or twin beds.

Amenities include air-conditioning, individual balcony, in-room Wi-Fi access, cable TV, telephone with IDD call facilities, in-room safe, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, mini bar, tea/coffee making facilities, complimentary daily newspaper and rain shower.

Built on stilts with traditional Malay wooden exteriors while contemporary furnishing and amenities deck the interiors, I could easily plunge into a restful respite in this amazing Langkawi island resort.

After checking into the rainforest chalet, I quickly changed into my swimwear to check out the beautiful swimming pool and the nice beach and sea.

I particularly enjoyed the beach activities, especially the CECLO Pedal Boat which gave me a wonderful view of the entire scenery. At first I was a bit worried about safety cos I couldn’t swim but it was actually very safe and stable. Anyways, I got to wear a safety vest so even if the boat capsized, I wouldn’t drown… hahaha!

Ceclo, is an electric powered pedal boat that offers an exceptional experience. It can accommodates up to 3 adults or 2 adults + 3 children. The speed is only 10km/per hour on sea, so it is super safe.

After about 5 hours under the sun, it was time to go back to my chalet and changed for dinner.

Dinner was at Pahn Thai restaurant which serves Thai food… one of my favorite cuisines in the world.

Not just any Thai restaurant in Langkawi, Pahn-Thai Restaurant is uniquely built on stilts over clear ocean waters and serves exquisite Thai cuisine with an extensive wine list in a fine-dining setting.

You can savour a unique open-air dining experience in the relaxing and enjoy the beauty of the Andaman Sea and the Mat Chinchang mountain range while you feast on authentic Thai specialties.

Thai food like Cai Hor Bai Toy/Miang Kham, Tom Yum Tha-Lay, Gooong Phad Ka Ree, Kaing Khiew Wan Gai, Pla Ka Pong Sa Mun Prai, Phad Phak Ruam Mitr, Khao Phad Saparod and Khao Niew Ma-Maung were served.

Day 2 of 3D2N Trip in Berjaya Langkawi Resort Malaysia

My Rainforest Chalet was within walking distance from Beach Brasserie and I love the food and environment!

Dining in a beach restaurant in Langkawi is a must. Located right on the private beach front, the resort’s Beach Brasserie offers an extensive menu of Western, and Indian cuisine.

You can choose to watch the sunrise while the sound of waves lapping on the shore as you eat a fulfilling meal before you start your day.

The cuisine served are Western & Indian specialties.

After a wonderful breakfast, I was given the chance to check out some of the rooms in this 5-star resort.

It has 412 rooms and suites consisting of Rainforest Chalet which I stayed in, Seaview Chalet, Rainforest Studio and its famous accommodation on land and water – Premier Seaview Chalet, Premier Chalet On Water, Premier Suite On Water, One Bedroom Suite On Water and Two Bedroom Suite On Water.

Offering sumptuous living spaces where luxury, privacy and serenity reigns, the Premier Chalets built on stiffs out over open waters also located at the edge of the rainforest or along the Andaman sea-front with stunning views of Burau Bay, provide a sanctuary for getaways of ultimate relaxation and recuperation.

Size of the Room is 56 sqm with King-sized bed or twin beds.

Exclusively designed to provide increased space and comfort, every unit cordially extends a sea-fronting semi-outdoor lounge and Jacuzzi, creating the ultimate space for relaxation and pampering sessions. You can listen to the waves or just laze or read on your day bed while the soft sea breeze teases you.

Size of the room is 51 sqm with a king-sized bed.

I also got a chance to have a tour of its spa facilities in Taaras spa.  This looked very relaxing for those who want to take a break and relax.

Langkawi Lady

After a tour of the Berjaya Langkawi Resort Malaysia, lunch was served in Dayang Café before I made my way to ‘Langkawi Lady’, a Berjaya-owned luxury yacht.  I had to take a jet boat out to the sea as the yacht was too big to dock.

With the ‘Langkawi Lady’ yacht, guests staying in Berjaya

Langkawi Resort can now opt for a vacation that offers privacy and experience the joy of being on a chartered yacht.

‘Langkawi Lady’ also has a mini bar and a mini kitchen, with coffee and tea making facilities.

I was surprised by the tasty dinner served on board cos I thought that since the kitchen won’t be a full fledged one, the food might not taste as good but I was so wrong.

Day 3 of 3D2N Trip in Berjaya Langkawi Resort Malaysia

It was the day where I had to fly back to Singapore so I had a hearty meal before taking the flight out of Langkawi.

Thanks Berjaya Langkawi Resort Malaysia for the kind hosting!  It left a very beautiful memory in my heart!
